Alameda Home Reduction

The subject property is a modest sized home in the Livermore area of Alameda County. We had a 2009 property tax appeal (application for changed assessment) filed with the County, which unfortunately the County was not able to get to until now. (Note: the County legally has up to two years from the date of application to hear a property tax appeal case; if they should go past the two years, you will win your opinion of value). The property in question was not assessed terribly high and could actually have been argued that it was fair at its $443,000. However, in conversation with the Assessor’s office, we were able to work out a property tax reduction to $410,000 resulting in a $350 refund to our client. Not the biggest reduction we’ve seen, but the client was happy and thus so are we!
